Ezekiel 34:23–24; 37:24–28 — The One Shepherd

After condemning Israel’s "shepherds" (leaders), God promises: "I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David … and I, the LORD, will be their God" (34:23–24). In 37:24–28 "David" is "king over them forever," and God makes "an everlasting covenant of peace" and puts his sanctuary "in their midst forevermore."
