Isaiah 42:1–9 — The Gentle Servant

God presents his chosen Servant, on whom his Spirit rests: he will not shout or break a bruised reed, but will faithfully bring forth justice to the nations, opening blind eyes and freeing prisoners, "a covenant for the people, a light for the nations."
